Diagnostics and prosthetically driven planning
The case begins with CBCT, an intraoral scan and a virtual diagnostic wax-up in CEREC. The data are combined to plan the implant from both anatomical and future prosthetic perspectives and are then used to manufacture a surgical guide.
Scanning after healing
After the surgical and healing phases, digital impressions were acquired, including the soft-tissue profile and a scan with an IPD scan abutment. The source also describes radiographic verification of correct scan-body seating.
Laboratory: Exocad, model and interface
The laboratory used Exocad to design both the 3D model and the prosthetic restoration. The case uses a digital analog fixed with two screws and a customised IPD base. According to the report, the final restoration was delivered without additional laboratory adjustment.
Why this case is useful
It shows that “fully digital” is not a single application but a discipline of continuity: the diagnostic model, implant plan, scan body, library, prosthetic base and physical model must all derive from compatible data.
